Subject: Focus On Faith
EVEN SO, COME LORD JESUS
Are you, as am I, weary of all the political
nonsense; of all the endless and meaningless rhetoric of self-consumed
politicians. Weary of all the anger that courses throughout our government?
Weary of politicians fighting for political control instead of fighting for we,
the people? Weary of the deliberate lies from both the media and our elected
officials? Weary of all the destructive hatred that has engulfed our society; of
all the hollow words about equality, tolerance and freedom? Weary of the
president’s every word being subject to criticism, mockery and anger?
Are you, as am I, tired of news commentators,
television personalities and Hollywood types thinking they are superior, when,
in fact, their anger reveals a gnawing fear that liberalism, with all its
permissiveness and unrestrictive freethinking, will be somewhat reined in under
the leadership of President Trump? Tired of sports figures who earn millions of
dollars brazenly disrespecting our country by ignoring our national anthem and
the flag under the guise of caring about American inequality, when really their
‘protest’, along with other public demonstrations, are against Donald Trump,
nothing more, nothing else.
Truth is, millions of people with their leftist
thinking and liberal attitudes were numb, paralyzed by the major defeat of a
seemingly ‘shoe-in’ victory for Hillary Clinton. They were beyond devastated as
America elected… through our nation’s ‘tried and true’ voting process (electoral
college) … a billionaire, a non-politician, a man who is rough around the edges,
a man who twitters too frequently, and frequently doesn’t choose his words
carefully, but a man who is proud to be an American! Many allege that President
Trump’s bombastic style triggers anger towards him. I acknowledge this. Our
President certainly can be disconcerting at times, but gut-deep hatred,
animosity, and resentment toward him arose with a vengeance when the Democrats
and leftists lost, dashing their dream of continuing to ‘swim’ in the D.C.’s
swamp. Defeat has no place in the liberals’ playbook, so bring on the rage,
bring on the spite, bring on false allegations, and turn everything the
President does and says into a personal smear and a political battle.
Without any question, President Trump is far from
perfect, but consider this. For the last eight years our nation had a man in the
Oval Office that was not proud of America. A man who apologized to other
countries for America’s greatness. A man who pushed for far less moderation and
much, much more liberalism on such subjects as same-sex marriage, abortion,
Islam, with little to no emphasis, unless in a negative way, on Christian
freedoms! President Trump has an entirely different agenda. An agenda which
involves loving America, supporting Christians, draining the Washington, D.C
swamp, and making America great again!
Yes, indeed, I AM weary of all the derisive talk.
But believer and non-believer alike can freely open God’s divinely inspired Word
to understand what’s happening, and what’s happening is mankind rapidly
fulfilling the worsening conditions predicted for the later days prior to the
Lord’s return (Revelation 19:11-21). In II Timothy, Chapter 3:1-5, Apostle Paul
perfectly describes today’s deteriorating condition. Here are 11 of the words or
phrases Paul used: ‘lovers of their own selves’; ‘covetous’; ‘proud’;
‘unthankful’, ‘unholy’; ‘without natural affection’; ‘truce breakers’; ‘false
accusers’; ‘despisers of those that are good’; ‘traitors’ , and ‘lovers of
pleasures more than lovers of God’. Could there be any better keywords to
describe people of today?
Pause and give thought to the word ‘lovers’ in
Paul’s description. Clearly, people no longer love their country; their
families; their freedom; their integrity and most definitely NOT God! Take note.
A 2014 Pew Poll revealed that from 2007 Americans describing themselves as
atheist, agnostic or ‘nothing in particular’ jumped from 16.1 percent to 22.8
percent. Folks, our world will continue to fade into an ever-growing abyss of
lawlessness, dark, sexual depravity, seething hatred toward Christians, and fury
toward God. Yet we who have accepted Jesus Christ as our personal Savior can
take GREAT comfort in knowing that our Lord and Savior will catch every believer
up and away from this wicked world to be forever with Him! (Rapture, I
Thessalonians 4:16-18) But a word of grave caution to those who deny Jesus
Christ as their Savior. Unbelievers will be left behind to face the Tribulation
Period (Revelation, chapters 6-19), followed by God’s righteous judgment (Great
White Throne, Revelation 20:11-15), and an eternity inhabiting the flames of the
Lake of Fire! (Revelation 20:15)
If a denier of Jesus, please turn to Him --- ("…If
thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine
heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Romans
10:9-10) --- so you too can deeply rejoice in knowing that one day there will be
a new Heaven and new earth (Revelation 21-22), where believers will forever live
in God’s culture, where there will be no distinction between Republican or
Democrat, and no racial prejudices! No longer will we be fixated on differences.
Instead, we shall with complete unity and with indefinable love, worship and
serve our God!
Is it any wonder that I, along with millions of
other born-again believers, daily look upward and say, "Even so, come, Lord
Jesus."
